// dave's killer bread. our web boss hayley can't stop raving about dave's killer bread. we've waited months to try a slice and last week, we finally got a taste :) first impression...super cool packaging! anyone who can make bread fun is rad in our book, but it get's even better...1) their breads are all 100% organic and made with no animal products or trans fats and 2) dave's got a really inspiring story behind the product. find out more here.
to get yourself some of dave's killer bread, check our your local wilco food mart or vons. if you can't find any there, order those babies online. it's worth it. FYI we dressed up our bread with ricotta cheese, kadota figs and honey!
// racked la's "a juice with" feature. in la, we're all about juicing and like racked's intro explains, it's equivalent to meeting up for coffee anywhere else. we've always liked this feature on racked la, but it doesn't hurt that our owner Ling-Su Chinn was just interviewed for this week's piece. some other notable juice guests we enjoyed reading up on...tori praver, yael aflalo and catt sadler.
// sunny blue. here's another not so secret hole in the wall that we finally want to share...sunny blue is nestled on main st. in santa monica and if you weren't looking for it, you might just pass it. their main thing? they make super tasty and quick omusubis. oh and they've got frozen yogurt too if that's your thing (it is for us!). an omusubi, also known as onigiri, is a Japanese rice ball that's filled with different types of fillings (we like the spicy salmon or miso mushroom) and typically wrapped with nori. we recommend ordering at least 2 of these suckers!
// the shell shop. a recent trip up our righteous cali coast led us to a piece of seashore/seashell heaven. this amazing shop full of everything a mermaid needs for her home, is located in the sweetest and chillest Morro Bay. we piled up on abalone shells to use as jewelry dishes, a shark's jaw for our inspo wall, and mini shell mobiles for gifts.
