We've thought long and hard about what organization we'd like to put our name behind and we've finally chosen the animal rescue organization Hope for Paws. This non-profit started by Audrey and Eldad Hagar rescues stray dogs and other animals that are suffering on the streets and in shelters.
Their rescue videos are especially what drew us in! All of us at Planet Blue were very touched by their stories and even adopted some of the organization's pups.

Say hello to our extended PB Family, all of which are rescues...who have saved us <3
TIM
"My mom and I found him outside my elementary school and he's been the king of the house ever since!"
ROMEO
Stacey's 6-year old Terrier mix Romeo. "He was found off the streets
alongside a female dog, who my mom named Juliet. We never intended to
keep either stray dogs but we were powerless against Romeo's innocent
hazel eyes and we had to keep him! Juliet was adopted soon after and now
has a loving home."
PETRIE
Stacey's 3-year old Havanese Petrie (named after a character in
The Land Before Time!) "Petrie literally
came to our door about a year ago looking as dirty and matted as
imaginable! I didn't even really want to pet him (but I did, I swear!)...Despite his appearance, I couldn't help but fall in love with his
childlike playfulness and endless kisses!"
FRANKENSTEIN
Our girl Erin Foltz from Bollare adopted little Frankenstein from the Lange Foundation in Brentwood back in October. "At the time I
was doing PR for a caused based clothing line that donates 50% of their
proceeds to help prevent the euthanasia of dogs in shelters across the
US and had set up a segment on a local morning show. At the time I was thinking about getting one and as fate would
have it the sweetest little chihuahua I had ever met was brought to the
taping that day!"
"Frankenstein
adds so much happiness to my life – we love to play at the beach
together (she has her own life vest to swim in the ocean!), go to dog
parks and she is the best movie cuddle buddy in the world. Adopting her
was one of the best decisions I have ever made."
TYSON
Jessica Wedemeyer from People Magazine adopted Tyson, an 8-year old mutt from an adoption event held at PetSmart. "There were about ten dogs in kennels, and I always say there could
have been a thousand other dogs in Tyson's cage and I would've walked
right by. But it's really like meeting "the one" - you just know.
COOPER
Cooper and I
were meant to be together, even though when I looked online and applied
to adopt, I was asking about a different dog. I had scrolled through
the East Coast Asian Dog Rescue website, seen Cooper's pic and noted how
cute he was, but had a different dog in mind. Turns out that particular
dog was already spoken for, and the rest was history."
PIGGY aka (LULU)
PUCK
Hayley's new member to the family Puck, a Pomeranian mix adopted from the Bill Foundation.
MICK
Cammy Lynn Hebert of Show Me Your Mumu's dog Mick! "Mick was on the corner of Abbot Kinney &
Venice at the MUCH LOVE adoption weekend set up. We were not looking to adopt a dog at all, but we
saw him and his mohawk and fell in L-O-V-E. Later that afternoon, I was a
dog owner! He won me over with his mohawk and baby doll eyes. I encourage
everyone to go the adoption route with dogs. They need you and (I
learned from my experience) you need them!"
JUNIOR
Planet Blue owners Ling & James' rescue cat Junior!
LOLO & MOJO
Ling & James added Lolo & Mojo to their family, two rescue pups from Hope for Paws.
The entire family!
GRETA & STEVIE RAY
Lisa from our Malibu Essentials store first adopted Stevie Ray, a Corgi/Jack Russell mix from the West L.A. Animal Shelter, then decided to adopt Greta so that he could have a playmate! "Stevie was extremely skinny, found in a dumpster eating rotten food! His
nose was almost completely scarred over from scaveging for so long. He
also had internal bruising, possibly from being beaten or dog fights.
Today he is plump, active, noisy and really protective.
We found Greta through a poster on a lightpole. A family was watching
her after finding her in an abandoned building's parking lot in Hawaiian
Gardens. She was about a month old, unfixed, raveged with ticks and
fleas, and so dirty she looked brown. We took her and never looked
back! She is cuddly, friendly, energetic, and so loving."
DASH
Rossmore Designer Suzy Lequeux rescue dog Dash! "Dash and I have been together for a year and
some change. We rescued him from a shelter in Orange county. He was just
the cutest little nugget ever! His Rossmore custom dog tag says Dash~Face! We are BFF and BBBP (best buddy business partners). He is also my personal trainer. Lol :)
The dude brings me mad love and light! Such a blessing in my
life."
Bianca was rescued by our friend Josh, designer of Daftbird in Downtown LA. "She and a few other puppies were left by a dumpster...Bianca is now 7 years old and loves the water, hiking, and going to the beach. She loves her snacks and is cool enough to walk without a leash. She's almost human...sometimes I'm convinced she is!"
LOLA
This little puppers was rescued from a puppy mill raid in Seattle 3 years ago by Laura from Nightcap. Lola is all about snuggling under the covers! We call her our "little heater" because she sleeps
either on your feet or between your legs, haha. She's the best, she'll come to the Nightcap store
and just chill with me.

MADDY
Erin from Nightcap rescued her Pitbull Maddy with the help of her friend Natasha. "My sister was getting her haircut when an old high school friend of mine
recognized her and asked if she would be interested in taking in a
puppy she found on the streets of Downtown LA. She's the best dog to have and loves to watch cartoons in bed :)"
MISS LULU
Santa Monica Store Manager Krystal's cat Miss Lulu. adopted two years ago. "They
were going to put her down because she had ear mites and ring worm and
she was only 5 weeks old. I fell in love!!"
